A couple of weeks ago, I had to opportunity to go home to VA to host 9 wonderful, 6th & 7th grade girls and 2 awesome college-age leaders in our home. Nana and Pa kept Hank so that I could spend time with my girls!
The girls arrived at 6pm on Friday. We went to church (You know you're old when you're driving the church van NOT fighting for the backseat) for worship and teaching. Then home to have devotions and decorate our toilet racer.
What's a toilet racer you ask? Well, it's a Saturday D-now tradition at our church. Each team is given a toilet bowl that is attached to a furniture dolly. The teams pick biblical themes and decorate the racer. There are 3 ways to earn points for your team. 1. Decor/Creativity with theme, 2. Presentation of racer - skit, rap, song, dance etc., 3. the race. Each team races in a double elimination tournament of sorts. It was so much fun! Saturday was also a day of worship, teaching, and devotions. Saturday evening was time for "pranking" Toilet paper, forks, and window paint were involved :)
Sunday morning was off to church and then all the girls went home. It was a nice getaway for me and so nice to build relationships with these youth girls. I miss them and can't wait to spend more time with the awesome youth group when Russell returns.
Enjoy the pics from my weekend.
Building the racer. Theme: As the deer pants for the water so my soul longs for Thee.
