I spent my weekend at my house in VA with my cousin Lyn. We went there to participate in the VA Beach Shamrock 8K. It was an awesome event. We got up at 5:30am and left my house at 6:00. We joined with 7,675 other runners/walkers to do the race. We took off on the road and then ran up the boardwalk giving us (on our last 2.5 miles) a beautiful ocean view. I had a goal of 55 minutes...approx 11 minutes per mile. But mile 5 was hard! I was right on track at mile 4 but ended up at 56 minutes and 14 seconds (I placed 4,208). I'm still so proud of myself for finishing and I'm already looking for more races to sign up for. Lyn also finished the race at her goal time. We had a blast visiting with our cousins Barry and Susan for dinner on Friday and then we explored colonial Williamsburg on Saturday. It was an awesome weekend with Lyn!!!
Here are Lyn's iphone pics from Saturday mornings sunrise on VA beach - these are pre-race photos

so proud of you!
